Clinical Observation on the Recovery of Urinary Bladder Function following Radical Operation for the Carcinoma of Uterine Cervix


Abstract
A clinical study was made on 190 cases who had been treated with radical operation for the carcinoma of uterine cervix, stage I and II at the Dept. of Obst. & Gynec., Seoul National University Hospital during the past 5 years from Jan. 1965 to Dec. 1969.
The results obtained are as follows;
1) The average age of Cx Ca stage I and II was 44 years.
2) The first day of postoperative bladder excercise was average postopeative 10.4th day.
3) The average duration of postoperative bladder excercise was 7days.
4) Spontaneous urination with less than 50 c. c. of residual urine was accomplished on the postoperative 20.4th day in average.
5) The average duration of indwelling catheter application was 18 days.
6) The average amount of residual urine at discharge was 41 c. c. .
7) The average duration from surgery to discharge was 28 days.
